Frequently Asked Questions

When my customers are happy I'm happy. I try to make the process fun and as easy as possible. But every now and then you may ask yourself one of these questions:

How do you ship prints?

That depends on the size: 18" × 24" and 24" × 36" are carefully rolled, placed in a protective bag, and shipped in a tube. Have more than one map? No problem! Multiple prints of this size will be shipped in an appropriately sized box.

Smaller prints are packaged flat in protective sleeves then make their way to you in a padded mailer.

Do prints come framed?

Nope. All maps are frame-ready though. Because really, you're not going to just pin it up on a wall ... right?

Can you frame prints before shipping?

Chances are you're not a framing expert either. I do have some guidelines that have helped others frame their new maps:

“Thicker/wider frames make the map look smaller while thinner frames make them seem larger. Choose a frame that meets your space needs. Color? Black is a classic choice. But try a white frame for a modern clean look.”

I want to add my home, work, grandparent's house, etc. Can you customize an existing City Blueprint?

Definitely! You can add 1-3 points to any existing City Blueprint for a small fee. Please email me.

I don't see my city. Can you make it?

Absolutely! Check out the Custom Orders page.

Do you offer wholesale prices?

I love wholesale partners. Let's talk!

Why isn't { insert place } on this City Blueprint?

To begin, I research the history and culture of each city. I find places that are interesting and unique to the city and those start the bulk of the points I include on the final map. Sometimes they're well known landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge. Sometimes they're more obscure, like neighborhoods that played an important role in the Civil Rights movement. Every adventure has its own treasures to discover. Want a map more your style? Let's make one together!

What's your return policy for non-custom maps?

If you're not satisfied with your map, contact me within seven days of receipt. I'll gladly accept returned items in salable condition for a full refund less the cost of shipping.

Can I return a custom map?

All custom maps are created as a partnership. I'll work with you to get it just the way you want, and provide a digital proof for you to approve before any printing is done. Given this process, printed custom work is non-refundable. In the end, if you're just not satisfied, get in touch and I'll do my best to make you happy.

Do you ship internationally?

You bet.

Do I have to pay customs fees on international shipments?

This one's a bit tricky. The answer is: maybe.

Some countries impose fees on goods coming from the United States. These fees often vary from country to country. Since they're different everywhere, it is the buyer's responsibility to know how fees and laws apply in their country, and ultimately to pay fees if necessary. MapHazardly doesn't pay for customs. U.S. business taxes are confusing enough.

What if I have a question not answered here?

Please email me! I'm happy to answer any questions you have about MapHazardly. Or anything else for that matter — accuracy not guaranteed on "anything else" though!
